Separation & Divorce
Recovery Group
An 8-week group to help children talk about the many changes and emotions they experience following separation and divorce. The children will meet as a group during weeks 2-7. Weeks 1 and 8 are intended for parents and focus on gaining an understanding of their child’s experience.

Building Peaceful Families
Peaceful Alternatives for Children who have Witnessed Family Violence: The Peaceful Alternatives Program for Children helps children talk about their experiences and build a foundation for lives that are free from abuse, disrespect and violence.

Partner Assault Response
Group for Men
This is a 16-week group to assist men in addressing issues of domestic violence. The group is divided into 2 parts: the first 4-week “open” group is an introduction to such issues as power/control, “what is abuse”, and how to keep intimate relationships safe and healthy. This is followed by a 12-week “closed” group which builds and expands upon these themes. Participants must complete the 4-week group before proceeding to the 12- week program.  The cost of the 16-week group is $360.00 or by referral.  Limited subsidized funding may be available to those who qualify due to special circumstances.

This is a 10-week group to assist men in understanding anger and to help them acquire better coping skills to manage this complex emotion.

2 NEW PROGRAMS

HELP NOW:  Children who have experienced sexual abuse (CSA), Children with sexual behaviour problems (CSB), and Youth who have Sexually Offended (YSO) Resource Team

This is a service designed to help children who have experienced sexual abuse or who exhibit sexual behaviours or for youth who have sexually offended.  Children include those from the ages of 4 to 12. Youth are those from the ages of 12 - 16.  The cost of the service is based on ability to pay.

MALE SURVIVOR PROGRAM

This is a counselling service designed for adult males (16 and up) who experienced sexual abuse as children.  This service is provided free of charge.

Family Counselling and Support Services for Guelph-Wellington also provides counselling to men who were sexually assaulted as adults.  The cost for this service is based on ability to pay.
